A Feasibility Study is a planning tool used to identify and document the viability of a project so as to achieve its goals and objectives. It consists of an analysis of the possible alternatives or solutions to a problem. Thereafter, the best alternative is recommended. The results of this kind of study are used to make a decision on whether or not to proceed with a project. If, after the study process, a project is considered feasible; then, the next step would be to proceed with it.
An Analysis of Alternatives (AA) is a study to determine the best way to achieve the purposes of the project and meet the needs of an improved transit proposal. The results of this analysis lead to the selection of a Local Preferred Alternative (LPA). In this case, the alternatives to be evaluated were developed within the delimited study corridor; which directly impacts the following municipalities: Hatillo, Arecibo, Barceloneta, Manatí, Vega Baja, Vega Alta, Dorado, Toa Baja and Bayamón. The elements involved in conducting an analysis of alternatives are shown in the figure below.
